Catch up with VJ Rhea who proved to be quite a mixed bag...
Young and bubbly, VJ Rhea was on a whirlwind tour of the city Chennai recently to promote a line of designer bags and while she was at it, she took a few bouncers from TOI.
Once the youngest VJ on the block, the half Bengali-half Mangalorean beauty has grown up and continues to live life like a queen.
1x1 polls
Carrying a cool, peppy sling bag, Rhea got down to the brass tacks like a pro.
All work and no play
“I haven’t had the chance to even watch a movie, of late. I have been waiting to watch Dabangg and Robot — I really need to take a break and catch up with life,” she says. Yet, all the work hasn’t really made Rhea a dull girl. “After all, my work is all play,” she laughs.
Rain goddess
She’s been in and out of the city, but this time, it’s the weather she’s enjoying the most. “I think I brought the rains with me. The rains were just about over in Mumbai and when I came here it seemed to have followed me.” But despite the city’s restricted night life, she says the party scene rocks. “The last time I was in the city, I got to go around quite a bit and I had such a blast.”

She’s bagged it
After making an impression as a VJ, she’s bagged the lead role in a Telugu film. Although much is under wraps, she says, “The movie is produced by SM Raju who will be launching his son into the industry. Shooting will start in December.”
The cat’s out of the bag
I don’t like handbags — they are so ‘aunty-ish’. I’m more the schoolgirl sling bag type. If you were to upturn my bag at any time, you’d find a phone, a pink hair brush, an mp3 player, lemon flavoured mint, lip tinge, a wallet (with no money in it) and a book. I’m currently reading Matters of the Heart by Danielle Steel. I don’t read much, but whenever I travel I get to read at least one book.
Ah-men
I don’t like the metrosexual or the retrosexual types. I prefer the normal, nice, well-groomed guys. I like lean men, but in Bollywood, they are all hunked up. I’m a big fan of Salman Khan, and among the Hollywood heroes, I like Ben Affleck.
